Back in 2001, Doo-Ri Chung created her namesake brand and after much success over the past decade, has decided to step down from her position at the fashion house.  Though we have little details on the matter as of now, according to WWD, there is a possibility of selling the firm while members of the Tharanco Group, owners of the Doo.Ri brand, evaluate new strategies for the fashion house.

The designer has had much success, selling her duds at high-end retailers like Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, and Barneys. She even had the opportunity to dress Michelle Obama for a state dinner last fall! On top of these accomplishments, Chung was given ultimate recognition by receiving the CFDA Fashion Award for Swarovski/Perry Ellis’ Up and Coming Designer of the year back in 2006. She also won the CFDA Fashion Fund Award that same year. With all of the achievements she has had throughout her career, we can only wonder why she would stop now?

Though we are sad to see her go, we wish her nothing but the best in all of her future plans!
