The Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation (EDFF) is the metronome
for the support of emerging young designers. The masterpiece showcase of this year's seven most prominent designers
out of 175 who sought for the coveted runway spots for this year's Fashion
Week. Each of the seven finalists were
granted a $25,000 scholarship to design their own line to send down the runway
at a stunning Monday evening presentation in Bryant Park.
First were The Blonds with an array of Swarovski Crystal encrusted corsets alongside a flashy python pencil skirt and fashionable ostrich feathered collars. Prova came next with a futuristic voyage down the red carpet. A sunkissed pansy printed silk dress with silver and black glass beaded fringe was stylishly accessorized with a bottle cap necklace. Prabal Gurung took us on an international fashion trip with camel and white hooded coats and completed the collection with a bottle green viscose draped sleeve dress.

Cottons, wools and silks were the theme of Siki Im's extremely wearable collection. The first look of Italian wools and cashmeres were interwoven into a long black coat with slimming trousers followed by a haughty look of cropped turtle necks and kimono-style T-Shirts. Altuzarra showed a flashy acid washed velvet tuxedo dress with stylistically matched red velvet pumps with a gorgeous embossed leather ankle strap while Salvor sent a majestic oceanic patchwork dress with print double-knit leggings. In sophisticated downtown fashion, Organic closed the exhibition with a pink and green checkered Harris Tweed shoulder jacket with a silk chiffon tank top and tapered pants which concluded the wide-ranging runway show.
