You want a sneak peak of YSL’s cruise and spring menswear collections? You’ll have to wait, or get into the retail biz as the word on the street is that the new creative director, Hedi Slimane’s first collections will not be given way to the public, or press for that matter, for another several months. This shocking news is bringing a new meaning to the word “exclusion” in the fashion industry, where not even the top of the top a-listers will be invited to view the lines.

Shocking we know, but comical if you can picture it like the club that everyone wants in at but gets turned down from; bouncer’s with a list at the entrance, and their only words of rejection being, “Sorry, it’s for buyers’ eyes only." Yes, you heard right, only buyers will be invited to see the women’s cruise, and men’s collections, according to WWD. The only teaser we are given thus far is a vague description of the collections being “transitional," as reported by a YSL spokeswoman.

A modern day James Dean look-alike, Slimane’s first collection at Yves Saint Laurent is said to steal the spotlight from other haute couture fashion design houses on the streets of Paris. He held the Dior Homme fort down for 7 straight years, with beautiful designs inspired by his connections to pop culture, and we will be expecting nothing less from him at his new high and mighty position at YSL.

We don’t have all the nitty gritty details now, but stay tuned for more info!
