How to Perfect the "No Makeup" Look
Achieve the effortless, "no makeup" look with the following steps to feel naturally bright and beautiful!

We all wish we had that perfect skin, naturally long, curled eyelashes, and no need for lip color or eye shadow. Most of us, however, haven’t been blessed with these genes and thus, we are forced to use what the heavens gave us and fake the rest. Perfecting the natural, “no makeup” look is definitely a must for the spring and summer months upon us and an easy look to achieve. Follow these steps to get that effortless, natural beauty while still using makeup and you will look and feel bright and fresh for spring!

1) Even out your skin tone and moisturize-

To get that fresh-faced look, evening out your skin tone is the key ingredient to get you started. Keep your face moisturized and hydrated to prevent any unevenness of your skin’s surface. We recommend the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Face Mask by Fresh. Results will show after the first couple uses where you will quickly notice a more even skin tone and surface as well as a moisturized, supple appearance. ($88)

2) Conceal any blemishes-

We love Neutrogena’s SkinClearing Blemish Concealer because it’s an inexpensive product that kills 2 birds with one stone! With its microclear technology, this product hides blemishes and helps to clear them as well! Find this product at Walgreens, Target, or on Neutrogena’s website! ($8.99)

3) Powder-

If you are still having problems evening out your skin tone, or need something extra to help rid your face of any extra shine, use a powder. To get that, powderless look, we suggest BareMinerals; it’s light yet extremely effective, where only a little bit of powder goes a long way. Find it at Sephora for $26.00.

4) Add some blush or bronzer to brighten up your face

Using peach or pink tones with help to give your skin a natural flushed look, whereas cooler pink tones can create that made-up appearance. We suggest a cream-based blush like Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge For Lips and Cheeks. Find it at Sephora for $24.

5) Applying Eye Shadow-

Soft browns or nudes are the best shades to take when you want to achieve the natural look. They will help to enhance your eye color without looking like you applied any eye shadow at all!

6) Eyeliner optional-

If you are one who would still like to use eyeliner, we recommend using a brown liner. The shade of brown is dependent on how light or dark your eyelashes are as well as your eyebrows --keep it as close to your natural colors as possible!

7) Lip color-

Keep this part as simple as you can. We suggest going for a color that is closest to your actual lip tone or one that complements the color well. Another route you can take is a sheer gloss. This will still give your lips some notice without adding any extra color.

8) Always apply mascara-

You can go two ways with this: you can use a clear mascara to pump up your look without getting the extra color that mascara has, or you can apply a regular mascara. If you take the latter route, use brown mascara if your lashes are light, and black if they are dark. Either way you go, we recommend doing two coats; it will be just enough to give your lashes curl, but not too much to make them clump. For a clear mascara, we recommend  Covergirl Professional Natural Lash Mascara ($5.99), and DiorShow is always a great route to take for colored mascara ($25)
