Easy Exfoliation

Exfoliation is the first crucial step to keeping your summer glow. It’s important to exfoliate your whole body with a salt free product and pay special attention to the rough areas of your skin (knees and elbows). Use Bare Minerals Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser to see brighter and smoother skin while exfoliating.

Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize!

One of the best ways to maintain your tan is to lather up in lotion! Apply lotion at least twice a day. Keeping your skin hydrated is the key to stop your tan from fading or peeling, thus making it last much longer. Try Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer, it will leave you hydrated with some Vitamin E, while adding subtle color. Make sure to smooth on evenly throughout your body and use sparingly on knees, knuckles, elbows, and in between fingers and toes! For those areas, go with Vaseline or a body cream with shea butter.

Skin Protection

We all know that protecting our skin from the harmful UV rays is crucial for health purposes. But it is also a crucial part of preserving our summer glow! When we don’t use any form of skin protection or SPF it increases our chances of burning. We all know what comes with burns, and that’s peeling. When we peel from burns, our tan tends to fade quicker, so definitely make sure to load up on SPF!

Diet

Staying hydrated during the summer is crucial and drinking H20 has multiple benefits to keep us healthy, but did you know that our diet as well as our water intake can actually help preserve our summer tan? Foods with rich beta-carotene have been proven to help keep a lasting tan. What are these foods you ask? Carrots, cabbage, kale, sweet potatoes, and colored fruits are all great sources of beta-carotene that can be easily included in everyday meals!

When All Else Fails, Fake it!

When your tan has no more hope, don’t fret! That’s why the gods of the cosmetology world invented bronzer! For a subtle glow, sweep some bronzer across your nose, cheekbones and forehead. This will highlight the areas that naturally get the most sun. For a rosy glow, dab some blush on the apples of your cheeks. We love NARS Highlighting/Bronzing Duo. The complimentary pairings range in shimmery shades for a gorgeous glow!
