With a bevy of fashion shows and presentations to attend, how does one designer and celebrity stylist stand-out from the proverbial fashion crowd? The famed Woolworth Mansion served as the perfect backdrop to the Kim Hicks Fall 2012 Couture Collection styled by Derek Warburton. The collection, which is both opulent and wearable at the same time was admired by socialites, celebrities, top PR mavens, major media outlets and the who's-who of Manhattan.
As I entered this stunning mansion covered with rare artwork, sculpture, dazzling chandeliers and rich tapestry, it was clear that guests were in for a fashion experience like no-other! With an estimated worth of around $90 million (yes that's ninety million, dear) the Woolworth Mansion transported guests back to a time when men were gentlemen, and women were admired for their stunning beauty and grace.
The guests were greeted by handsome butlers serving decadent hors d'oeuvres such as seared tuna with cucumber ginger relish and refreshing cocktails by Given. PR powerhouse Lizzie Grubman, June Ambrose, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan from 'The Real Housewives of New York City' were there to watch this breath-taking fashion show, which I believe will also be featured during an upcoming episode of the show (how, exciting).
Everything about this fashion show was complete perfection. As I sat there, just taking in the atmosphere I could feel the guests anticipation as the models were set to begin. Sounds of "ohh," "ahhh" and words uttered such as "gorgeous" were repeated again and again. I particularly loved the use of lace, flattering silhouettes, use of rich colors such as a stunning crimson red and pieces adorned with frothy feathers. Pictured here are some of my favorite Kim Hicks haute couture designs, although it was most definitely hard to simply chose a few. Her designs styled by Derek Warburton were absolutely amazing!
