It’s finally here! Remember in May when we dropped the foot fetish-worthy news that Christian Louboutin had a pair of modern day Cinderella slippers in the making? Well hold on to your pumpkins—the “glass slippers” have been revealed! We speculated on the materials of the shoes, (Crystals? Diamonds? Magic stardust?) and even with our extravagantly high hopes, the real life slippers have succeeded our expectations.

The limited edition pair was unveiled last week in Paris; complete with signature red soles and just over four and a half inch heels. The fairy-tale inspired shoes are made in delicate lace and showered with Swarovski crystals. (We were close!) They are adorned with crystal-encrusted butterfly details at the peep toe and ankle, and sparkling multi-colored crystals cover the entire heel. “Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairy-tale love, but also shoes,” Louboutin said according to WWD. “Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale.”

The Disney-initiated collaboration debuts alongside the re-release of an anniversary edition of the 1950 film. In celebration of both, original stills and sketches from the making of Cinderella accompanied the shoes’ unveiling, plus a short Disney film with a similar story. Starring Louboutin as a humble cobbler facing his own midnight deadline to finish Cinderella’s slippers, characteristic friendly animals assist him in finding his inspiration, which finally blooms from a modern-day Cinder-elly working in rags while dreaming of riches.

In other Disney-related news—keep a look out for an upcoming beauty collaboration with Sephora set to debut in October. Inspired by our favorite classic characters, cosmetics, fragrances, and nail colors are in the making for the princesses in all of us. Like we said, Disney for the fashion industry—the possibilities are endless!
