Sonja Rubin and Kip Chapelle, designers of Rubin & Chapelle, give style hungry NYFW attendees a break from the heat and breakneck pace of the start of fashion week with a getaway location, on top of the High Line, cool glasses of wine, and a collection of ensembles that are sure to transport you from the NYC heat wave to a fantasy vacay on the islands of the Mediterranean.
Rubin & Chapelle embraces fluttery silks and cotton scarves. The models make their rounds on the top floor of the Standard Hotel, sauntering in neon colored Pumas with all of New York City at their feet. Bias cut dresses, kimono shaped blouses, and floor length cardigans drape models and drench them in pale blues, white, and vivid orange colors.
The entire collection radiates effortlessly casual and stylish swagger from the slicked back immaculate ponytails of the models down to the monochrome Pumas on their feet. This is a Spring/Summer 2015 collection that could easily become a uniform to slip into that wouldn't weigh you down and only escalate your next season wardrobe.
