No GTL Required for This Jersey Shore Costume
Take a trip to the Prohibition era with a Boardwalk Empire-inspired guise.

If you thought Jersey's ongoing presence in the media couldn't get any more paramount - think again. HBO's newest series, Boardwalk Empire, marks yet another show that encompasses tales of the Garden State. This prohibition-era program, however, pays homage to the Jersey Shore in a much classier - and less shameless - way than our favorite GTL'ers from MTV.

Scorsese fans and HBO enthusiasts alike tuned in to the premiere in late September, and were quickly enthralled by wardrobes as eye-catching and mesmerizing as the eerily nostalgic cinematography.

After taking in an episode, you almost have to snap yourself out of your virtual trip to the '20s. So much so that they've got us wondering if fans will soon ditch their cardigan-and-jeans norm for some flapper-girl style. This objective may be more fantasy than reality; but luckily, fantasy is the name of the game for our favorite upcoming holiday: Halloween.

Boardwalk Empire is new enough to spark up a unique costume, while still well-known enough to be recognizable - whether or not you're headed to Atlantic City. Impersonate the  glamorous leading ladies with fun, feminine hairpieces,  curve-hugging dresses, and plenty of pearls. Don't forget the pin-up style hair and some ravishing red lipstick (see image, left).

But this costume isn't just for the girls. Your guy will look like a million bucks, too, in the dapper styles of the cast's male frontrunners. An A-list suit and some seriously slicked back hair are the key elements of this look - and probably a lot easier to acquire than Pauly D's blow-out and bronze, we'd surmise. So, be it a solo guise or couple's costume you're looking for, consider going classy this year with a revival of the Roaring Twenties.
