Frieda Pinto has been proclaimed this Award Season’s “It” Girl by WWD, and the “Slumdog Millionaire” starlet and former model from Mumbai is definitely one to watch on the red carpet. After attending the Golden Globes in Christian Lacroix Haute Couture and the SAG Awards in Marchesa, I can not wait to see which designer Pinto chooses to wear to the Oscars in March.

Pinto’s stylist, George Kotsiopoulos, has used India as inspiration when helping select red carpet dresses – note the emphasis on draping. Kotsiopoulos has also chosen jewelry from Indian designers like Amrapali to help complete Pinto’s red carpet looks. It is not just Pinto’s undeniable beauty that has catapulted her to the top of designers’ lists, but her eloquence and poise as well. I would be jealous if I were not just as enamored by her as everyone else.
