We’ve all heard, uttered, and most likely lived through the classic motto “beauty is pain." Well here is some great news; as it turns out, we no longer have to suffer for style! To say fashion sneakers are ‘hot’ would be an understatement. Soon, if you aren’t strutting down the street in a pair of super comfy and equally stylish kicks, you might as well stay at home. Designers are getting in on the trend by the handful: Nike x Liberty London, Jeremy Scott x Adidas, Superga for The Row. With traditional, old school, hi-top style—you don’t even have to fake sporty anymore with those sky-high, wedge-heeled pairs. Cue Foster the People—here’s our top picks for sneakers that will put a little extra spring in your step.

The trifecta of fashion kicks; designer label, classic Chuck Taylor style, glittering signature knit, check, check, and check. Made with space-dyed cotton (Refinery clued us in--that’s “fancy tie-dying for thread) these puppies are the most practical trend we’ve seen this year! Back for a second round of collaboration, this year’s collection consists of three unisex styles to choose from. There’s white/blush, mint green/white (both in zig zag Missoni chevron), and navy blue/white in a woven static design. The limited-edition line just dropped last weekend and at $200 a pop you better snatch your size quick!
Available at Missoni boutiques, Jeffrey, Fred Segal, Aloha Rag, and converse.com

Or are they heel sneakers? Either way Be&D has given new meaning to “running in heels” with these adorable new arrivals. The hi-top sneaks feature a stylish stiletto silkscreen print on a crisp white canvas background. With five colorways to choose from (yellow, coral, turquoise, black, and neon pink), you can have a brightly hued pump for every outfit. Plus, they’ll be way easier on the arches. The Big City Sneakers are retailing online for $128 and although some styles are already sold out, check back or pre-order your pair because you’re going to want to rock these all summer long. Vans are getting a makeover—Kenzo style! The staple footwear brand long associated with skater culture is a perfect fit for the eclectic style of Kenzo’s new creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (they’re Opening Ceremony founders too, fyi). Officially announced this week, the style is Van’s classic ‘Era’ and their Kenzo upgrade includes three brightly colored pairs in brand’s Spring 2012 prints. Watermelon pink, Kelly green, ocean blue, and splashes of yellow make this collaboration juicier than we even imagined! “Vans is one of the iconic American brands and we liked the idea of infusing this bit of American style into the house of Kenzo,” said the duo. The sneaks will debut in three installments this summer in May, June, and July; will be stocked at Opening Ceremony, Colette, Harvey Nichols, Bosco Milan, Lane Crawford and IT; and retail for $125 a pair. We can’t wait!
