You may remember her from her role in the movie Elf, or heard her newest album She & Him, or maybe you’re a huge fan of her goofy character in the TV show The New Girl. Regardless of her role in Hollywood, Zooey Deschanel has continued to grace us with her presence and even more, her retro-classic sense of style. Which is why we've chosen her as a favorite style muse for the week! With her continuous flirty-girl outfits, va-va-voom 60’s hairstyles, and quirky personality, we can't get enough of Zooey's unique style.

The key ingredients to  Deschanel's look are simple, replicable, and coincidentally right on trend point for spring and summer ’12.

First: Her cat eyeliner or cat eye sunglasses

This is a true 1960’s flare that has come back to stay for the warm weather and the best part about the cat eyeliner look is that it is a perfect form of drama to bring from day-to-night in your makeup.

Second: Her hair

Zooey usually styles her hair in a spiral or beach wave, which is easily done with any size curling iron.

Tip: Wrap thick chunks of hair around the curling iron rather than twirling inside, spray when you’re done, then brush it out to give your look some volume.

Third: Her dresses

Zooey Deschanel is notorious for wearing bell shaped dresses with cinched waistlines, heart necklines or high necklines. High-waist skirts and blouses are also a great way to achieve this look. Wear it with a cardigan over and you have thus achieved the flirty-girl look.

Fourth: Her shoes

Ballet flats are key to Deschanel signature style and also a great classic essential any girl should have in her wardrobe.
