What a perfect combination of happiness and excitement! Katrina LaPenne is back again but with Anne McCain from MCMC Fragrances. This amazing duo paired up to create the perfect feminine essential: lockets filled with solid perfume to hold close to your heart. The solid perfume, made of jojoba oil and melted beeswax, is infused with a floral scent created by MCMC and housed inside the locket making it the most stunning functional accessory of the season.

For those of you who are hearing about MCMC Fragrance for the first time, this line of fragrance doesn't only make perfumes that smell good but are also redolent for MCMC. Anne McCain owner, founder, and creator studied natural perfumery (there is such thing!) and aromatherapy in Grasse, France. Anne has defined MCMC as a "practice of modern perfumery". An even more exciting fact about MCMC is that they are based in Brooklyn! Check out the classes they offer as well, which consist of small groups learning how to mix fragrances; no previous knowledge required! Enough about MCMC--we can go all day--more about the collaboration.

This perfect duo of jewelry and perfume has taken the spotlight. Both located in Brooklyn "the designer and perfumer have gathered inspiration from three of the most iconic florets blooming in the famously trendy borough: rose, lilac and moonflower." Our minds are fluttering from extreme overload of cuteness. The concept and collaboration between these two is to-die-for. A jeweler and fragrance designer coincide to create the perfect piece as an accessory, which will never leave your jewelry box. After your solid perfume is all used up in your locket, don't hesitate to request a refill! MCMC is implementing a refill system so you will never be without your favorite scent. Brilliant!

As we looked at the sterling silver lockets and their perfectly structured designs, we began to wonder what the process entails and how it is done. "The unique process begins with Katrina LaPenne’s use of a hydraulic press to form the locket shape, later soldering on hinges, clasps, and a rim to house the perfume.  Once the locket is perfectly shaped, it is adorned with a hand-carved floral design corresponding to one of three floral aromas."
