Londonites Gain Access into Manhattan's Nightlife Hotspots
A reporter for the Times of London does some investigative journalism...

The Times of London is doing its best to be the worldwide authority of cool. Yesterday’s Sunday Edition contained an expose of secret New York hotspots like Milk & Honey and Angel’s Share. It also featured better known joints like La Esquina and PDT.

Travel writer Stephen Bleach hit the town with wife Jaqui to attempt to gain entry into the coolest bars in New York. The Brits got lucky at La Esquina--the doorman was on break. They managed to sidle into Angel’s Share and PDT with no troubles but found themselves stumped on their search for Milk & Honey’s elusive phone number.

After talking to multiple concierges, they went to mixed drink haven Pegu Club to hunt down owner Audrey Saunders. Saunders graciously handed over the number and the tourists (gasp!) were able to make a booking and enter the best kept secret hotspot in New York.

At one point, Bleach admits to using his British accent to charm his way past grumpy doormen and women. A handy tip for all the soon-to-be-unemployed Broadway stars who can spout off Shakespeare at the drop of a hat.
