Summer is officially here and that means weekend Hamptons trips are in full swing. And it's about time. After a record-breaking winter, we're all ready to trade our wool coats for swim trunks, bikinis and flip-flops. Everyone, we're pleased to announce, the wait is over! The party has started.
So if you've been too busy trying to stay dry or longingly staring out the window wondering when you'd see the sun again, we have you covered. From what's new and hot, to what's returning in full glory -here's your guide to what's happening in the Hamptons this Summer!
What's New...
SL East
This weekend the popular meatpacking district club (and celeb hotspot) SL spawns a sibling in the Hamptons. EMM Group owners Eugene Remm, Mark Birnbaum and Mark Hirtenstein bring their nightlife expertise East. Boasting 7,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor space, world-class DJs (Steve Aoki!), a state-of-the-art audio system, chic decor and a hot crowd (of course), SL East will no doubt be the go-to spot this summer.
The swanky new spot is located at Three Mile Harbor Road in East Hampton and will be open Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, every Saturday, and on Sundays during extended weekends for the upcoming summer months. Hours of operation will be from 11:00PM – 4:00AM.

South Pointe

Formally known as RdV, the space has received a new name and a $600k facelift. In addition to its new look, owners Jon Schwartz and Ben Grieff are aiming to draw the elite, 25+ crowd with high-end DJs (think Calvin Harris) and more space. “We didn’t want any tables on top of each other,” Schwartz says. “We’re geared toward an older clientele, who’ll be more likely to spend more if they’re happier and comfortable.” Grieff added, “This is not a place where you can buy your way in. We’re aiming for a great-looking smaller group vs. a ton of people. We want that elite crowd.” The space consists of 33 tables inside with additional cabana-style seating outside to evoke a "vacation feel." If you're looking for a sophisticated spot, where you won't be climbing over people, South Pointe is the place.
South Pointe is located at 125 Tuckahoe Road, Southhampton. Hours: Memorial Day weekend Fri, Sat, Sun 10pm-4am, Saturday thereafter 11pm-4am. (excluding special events)

Since its debut in 2009, it has gained a following and reputation for being one of the best in the Hamptons and will continue raging on this summer.

Navy Beach

After a successful debut last year, Navy Beach is back for another summer. Situated on the waterfront of Montauk and known for its breathtaking sunsets, this nautical-themed gem will take you from breakfast to dinner and beyond. This is the spot for the ultimate lazy beach day. Chef LaBue (formerly of The Laundry) mans the kitchen here. His New American influenced menu focuses on fresh seafood. Signature items include: Lobster Summer Pot Pie; Spaghetti with a crustacean bolognese; Grilled Wholefish of the Day; Mediterranean Fish Stew with red wine and tomatoes; and The Navy Burger with hand-cut Parmesan fries. Navy Beach is far more than a waterside restaurant. Owners Frank Davis and Franklin Ferguson were intent on offering more than food and drinks so they added a variety of events including a comedy night, Guitar Hero night as well as live music. They also serve up delectable specials such as the "Lobster Bucket Night." You'll get two steamed lobsters, a bucket of beer and a bucket of fries! French fries, beer and lobster? Sold! If that wasn't incentive enough, you'll also enjoy a sunset happy hour and comfort bar food menu 'til midnight.

Almond

(631) 668-6868
Famed French bistro, Almond, has found a new home on the corner of Bridgehampton's Main Street and Ocean Drive. Patrons will be glad to hear the space is reportedly larger and more posh than its former "broken down" home. However, the restaurant will still maintain the "casual, neighborhood bistro" vibe it's beloved for. Owner Eric Lemonides greets patrons at the door and oversees a menu of incredible dishes -from specialty salads, such as their escarole, mint pistachio citronette, and manchego cheese concoction to entrees like herb-crusted Montauk flounder served with carmelized fennel broccoli rabe and garlic chips. They also have an extensive wine and drink list. If Almond has anything to do with it, you will never go hungry or thirsty.
