Rivalry and bitterness can ensue when it comes to public recognition especially when it come to someone you've spent time mentoring. With any professional field comes a kudos event tailored toward those in that industry. The film industry has The Academy, the internet has The Webbys, and the food industry has the James Beard Foundation.
Ron Swanson famously said, “I still think awards are stupid, but they'd be less stupid if they went to the right people.” Well, Audry Saunders is one to agree. As The New York Post reports, this year at the JBF Awards held in Avery Hall, Saunders’ Pegu Club lost the award for Outstanding Bar Program to ex-employee Jim Meehan’s PDT. Like any sore loser, Saunders had reportedly, “stormed out, went backstage and was bitching about it.”
Other highlights included an unidentified woman fainting, subsequently hitting her head on the marble floor, then was later taken away by an ambulance. These are the kinds of things that happen when people get together off camera! Imagine how much more exciting The Oscars would be if they knew it wasn't just one long commercial for Hollywood.
