Brighton Bar

Everybody's gotta start somewhere. In New Jersey, Bon Jovi endured enough heartbreak and hard times in Sayreville to satiate his fans with a few decades worth of love songs, and of course The Boss pays regular homage to his old haunts in Asbury Park. Similiarly, The Wretched Ones and about a dozen other infamous Jersey bands, both local and MTV embraced (remember Fountains of Wayne from..er, Wayne NJ?) have found a home in the Brighton Bar. The bar itself is remniscent of CBGB's, only far less haggard. You can expect reasonably priced drinks (and strong ones at that) and rock 'n roll in its purest form on any given day of the week. In addition, the Brighton Bar is the host of open-mic and poetry nights too.
