Giorgio Armani is famous for his brilliance in classic chic designs. His evening gowns are to die for and his well-tailored suits create a certain James Bond-like affect. He has conquered the fashion world and ventured into home design. The reowned designer is adding to his real estate design portfolio (which includes NYC's 20 Pine) with a new skyscraper in Mumbai.
Armani has recently signed an agreement with real estate developers in Worli, one of Mumbai’s most expensive areas, to design and decorate the World Towers residential complex. Ready in 2015, this will be the second tallest residential complex in the world as a 117-story skyscraper. Go big or go home, right?

New York Fashion Week is unlike any other. It is where designers, models, and really anyone else in the creative cluster come together for a 60-minute stint to show if they will make or break it in the industry. Important people will be in the crowds to love or loath designs and, with over 250 designers showing this week, the rookies are going to have to step it up in order to leave their imprint in this crazy-cool and chaotic biz we like to call the fashion industry.
Although a veteran to the industry, Gemma Kahng is making a comeback this NYFW and has been the biggest buzz of the hour. Kahng’s designs were a hit back in the early '90s but, like many, her 15 minutes of fame was up once the Y2K hit and thus, she went into hiding. Now that she has arisen from hibernation, we are expecting her to come back with a bang and show us that she is here for the long haul. During an interview with StyleCaster, she was quoted explaining, "My work is getting more complicated and at the same time, more refined. What I am doing now requires a more difficult process but at the end it is more thought-out." It will be interesting to see what Kahng has in store for us, but we are confident it will be a cohesive presentation.
Frog Greishaw is a soulful, imaginative, and most important, uninhibited designer that does not play by anybody’s rule nor cares to be defined by anybody but herself. As an award winning designer, her creative collections and individual items have put her on various watch lists. Entering Frog’s atelier, one cannot help but notice the artistic transformation of a former butcher shop.
I recently had the opportunity to chat with celebrity photographer Andy Tsagaris at his sleek Manhattan studio-space. This was definitely a special interview as Andy has photographed many influential, beautiful, and interesting fashion & entertainment icons. Lydia Hearst-Shaw, designer extraordinaire Richie Rich, and celebrity stylist Philip Bloch are just a few of the notables that Andy has shot with his magical lens and creative eye. I was then given the chance to model for Andy as part of his latest campaign, "Be The Link." It was truly an honor to be included amongst all the famous faces and industry innovators. Even more invigorating was being able to delve into a celeb photographer's mind -- to find out what it's actually like to see life through Andy's worldly lens!
Yes, we admit it. We have an inexplicable love affair with South Africa. It must the fusion of exotic African wildlife and luxurious coastal culture topped with the refined accent. Straight to you from this faraway fantasy comes designer Bernice Angelique and her handbag line, Meant to B. Launched in 2011, the London-based designer fused her desire to combine luxury materials and inspiring native heritage to create the handcrafted, ostrich leather collection. Each piece is custom made by local artisans in Cape Town, South Africa with the option of embossed personalization. The collection includes styles from edgy clutches to practical (as ostrich can be) hobos and cross-body bags. In classic neutrals: black, silver, camel and bold hues: cobalt, magenta, red—we love that these opulent accessories can make a bold statement with any ensemble. And that’s not all; when you custom-create your style, there are over 400 shades to choose from along with choices for the bag’s interior and hardware. Prices start at about $850—a steal for personalized ostrich, right?!
When we were young, it was ingrained in our heads that eating our fruits and veggies would make us grow up to be big, beautiful, and strong. Now we’re older, and the super man or super model we were envisioning we’d look like isn’t what we see in the mirror (what the hell mom?!).
Have no fear, Mother Nature heard our cry for help and brought to us the answer; the miracle fruit. This berry is the super food of all time; the fruit that is proven to be the perfect nutrient for the mind, body, and soul. Yeah, okay, we know what your thinking, the açaí berry, duh.
