Hidden under club Kiss and Fly and French bistro Bagatelle, through an unmarked door and a mysterious flight of steps is New York’s newest underground hotspot RdV. Short for rendezvous, the Meatpacking District’s uber-exclusive RdV defines luxury with its modernly chic, Victorian-inspired décor that transport you to Old Hollywood glamour. Celebutantes and socialites sip on Dom Perignon, poured by servers in classic three-piece suits, as they revel on the lavish antique chaise-lounges that fill RdV’s lush lair.
Eats & Drinks
RdV offers French fare from their famed upstairs neighbor Bagatelle. Mixologist Thierry Hernandez, from Bar du Plaza Athénée in Paris, concocts an exceptional cocktail menu including RdV’s irresistible Miss Liberty, a perfectly strong blend of lemon juice, simple syrup, white grape juice, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, vodka and a splash of hibiscus syrup that skillfully descends to the bottom of the martini glass.
Ambience
Once you make it through the unmarked doors of RdV, be prepared to be transported to a posh underground den that exudes affluence in a modernized, Old-World setting designed by David Graziano. The purple velvet staircase leads to RdV’s candlelit hideaway, where socialistas can feel like royalty as they admire the surrealistic artwork hanging above the plush leather, cow fur, velvet and Thai silk chaise lounges. The chic baby grand piano and antique foosball table enhance the retro vibe as guest DJ’s set the mood for a stylish late-night RdV.
Celebrities
RdV’s hidden lounge has been a rendezvous hotspot for a slew of celebrities. John Legend performed at RdV’s opening night, Lil’ Kim danced on the plush purple couches at the Faces of Fashion Week soiree, and Giants Eli Manning, Shaun O'Hara, and Kevin Bass were spotted taking tequila shots at the ultra-hip RdV. Model Le Call, Mary-Kate Olsen, David Schwimmer, Josh Lucas, Zac Braff, Quincy Jones, Estelle, and Aubrey O’Day have also been sighted partying at RdV’s exclusive nightspot.
