Have you been looking for something new to listen to, but still want an old-school feel of that sweet ol’ funk? Then you will love the smooth sounds of the “Nu-Sion” band Kung Fu. The band hails from Connecticut and will be headlining at the Brooklyn Bowl this Thursday, May 16th as pre-party to The Big Up Music & Arts Fesitval held this August in Claverack, NY. Although this band has a strong emphasize on funk, this is not your typical funk band. Kung Fu, a quintet of highly-talented musicians, constructed the feel of the legendary genre with some new age sounds to create an electro-band fusion that will have music-lovers craving for more.
In honor of the late Beastie Boys' Adam “MCA” Yauch, Brooklyn Bowl will host a FREE screening of "Awesome: I F--kin Shot That" tonight followed by a Beastie Boys Tribute AV performance by Electric Method.
To top it off attendess will enjoy $5 Brass Monkey cocktails (rum, vodka, and orange juice) from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

10/27: DJ Questlove Presents: Bowl Train
The world-renowned DJ and Roots drummer Questlove occupies a Thursday night residency at Brooklyn Bowl, spinning a vast library of house, hip-hop, classics, and more. All of his tunes are accompanied by old-school Soul Train videos, adding some nostalgic flavor to your night out.
The Brooklyn Public Library is gearing up for their 15th Annual “Masquerade Bowl” Gala. This year's event is to be held at Brooklyn Bowl located at 61 Wythe Avenue in the Willie B Williamsburg, Brooklyn for the uninitiated, on October 27th from 6:30pm-9:30pm. The gala will pay tribute to celebrated Brooklyn author Paul Auster whose work include The New York Trilogy, and Sunset Park.
