It's down to just a day away and just like that, Electric Daisy Carnival New York is here. YSL has just released Miss Cara in their latest beauty campaign featuring their Babydoll Mascara product.
If you've opened up a magazine in the past year, then you have been quite familiar with the many faces of Cara Delevingne. Cara plays the role of two different characters; an elegant and proper female vs. a wild child in the city. It is a pretty entertaining one minute video clip, if you are a Cara fan. Besides now being the new face of YSL Beauty, she has recently signed a contract with Burberry Body Tender.
Sebastian Ingrosso doesn’t need an introduction. The 30-year old Swedish DJ and producer has seen a great amount of success in his past few years behind the turntables and in the studio. He is the head of his own record company, Refune, and was a third of the wildly famous super-group Swedish House Mafia that performed their last show together on March 24, 2013. He recently dropped his new club anthem “Reload,” on May 14th and can be purchased on iTunes, here.
Sean "Diddy" Combs announced on his Twitter that he's been cast as a series regular on the British hit-drama Downton Abbey, writing "MY BIG NEWS: So happy to announce that Im a series regular on DOWNTON ABBEY-my favorite show+i'll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!"
The show has been mixing up the cast lately, adding Gary Carr as the show's first black character earlier this year, but Diddy being added to the cast would be unusual, as the majority of the cast are British actors, including Carr. So far there's been no news on who Diddy will play, or any news from creator, Julian Fellowes, on the casting. So far the show's offical Twitter has almost been silent.
Gin is the spirit of the moment with a rising popularity in jazz nights happening at venues around the city and the huge success of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby in theaters now. What better time than when gin-based cocktails are making a comeback in a huge way than to introduce Geranium London Dry Gin? Gin is hugely popular across the pond but many drinkers here in the states tend to gravitate toward vodka and rums. Henrik Hammer, a Danish gin expert and founder of Geranium Gin is hoping to change that with his craft spirit.
Friday! Friday! Friday! Ashley Allen, a born and raised New Yorker is taking the pop scene by storm THIS Friday at BB Kings, baby! Ashley’s fresh and intoxicating talent will have you thinking way past the sound of her music; it’s stimulates that party gene we all retain.
Daughter of Music Executive Jeff Allen for Universal Attractions, Ashley is no newbie to the music scene. Many assumptions can be made for a normal New York girl with a voice and a musically connected parent, but when you open a book you’ll find it’s full of pages. Ashley suffered from depression, anxiety, and bullying at a young age, giving her a drive for deeper lyrics than your basic ’let’s party’ radio hit. At one point things got bad enough that drugs were her only answer, but not for long. Ashley’s music pulled her right out of her darkest pit and helped her escape her sadness. She also took an interest in writing poems (that later turned to songs) to express herself and deal with her emotions in a safer way. As a fifth grader, she made her first song ‘Love Will Find A Way’ inspired by the sounds of her and her mothers favorites like Celine Dion, Cher, and Barbara Streisand. Her first single ‘Body Say No, Heart Say Yes’ was released in 2012 and set her path straight for her up and coming pop career.

It has become somewhat of a tradition for music lovers. Every year people save up their money to attend their favorite venue in hopes to not only see their favorite artist, but also explore new musicians and genres. It truly has become an exhilarating experience that bands people together through one powerful common interest. Still, these concerts are nowhere near free and not everyone has the money to attend every single festival. This is why many magazines, websites, and newspapers try to analyze the best places to go based on prices and overall content. This may seem like a great idea, which it is, but sometimes facts and opinions can override each other even in a professional setting.
