Last Week, one of the City’s only, and most popular eco-friendly nightclubs, Greenhouse, helped celebrate Earth Week by hosting their “Greenhouse Gives Back” campaign. Each night from April 16th to the 22nd, proceeds were given to Global Green, Cans for a Cure, Prospect Park Alliance, American Cancer Society, Riverkeeper, Green Festival, and Plant a Billion Trees, each an environmental or health-based charity.
A refreshing take on a lifestyle that revolves around glamour and innovation, Greenhouse is a benefit to New York City and the world. Nearly everything used to build the club was recycled, from their bamboo floors to the glass tables. The 6,000 square foot bi-level space uses wind power to run their LED lighting and low flow sinks that conserve electricity and water.
"As an eco- friendly nightclub it's important that we stick by our motto of living a greener life by supporting Earth Week, Earth Day, Earth Festival, and charities that concentrate on an eco-friendly lifestyle," says Greenhouse co-owner Barry Mullineaux.
Greenhouse also served as an after party space for the Green Festival NYC that happened on Saturday, April 21.
