MTA Redefines "Unlimited" Metro Cards. Surprise! Only 90 rides. Suckers.
In other news, somewhere an MTA employee got a raise for this new method of pissing off New Yorkers.

Get ready for the opposite of "Cool $hit": surely MTA employees earn higher holiday bonuses for making New Yorkers angry. Inspiring this theory is the NY Daily News’s discovery that MTA wants to make the “unlimited” MetroCards that we shovel out $89.00 for to pay for only 90 rides. While those who go to and from work may not find this to be an extremely upsetting suggestion, the messengers, sales representatives and (like we care) tourists are the ones who get shafted by this redefined term of “unlimited”.

We understand that MTA is a little strapped for cash right now, but if they keep pulling stunts like this, how much will New York MetroCard customers put up with?

More importantly, why don’t they just call it a “90 ride” card instead of “unlimited”?
