In New York, it can be easy to fall into a ‘going out routine’ especially if you have limited funds. That’s why the new “punch bowl” craze is a great way to spice up the usual routine and try a brand new drink (a huge brand new drink).

These punch bowls are popping up all over and offering some unique twists to the usual whiskey sours, vodka sodas and beer pitcher deals. If you are going out with your group of girlfriends or out on a date, these punch bowls offer the delicious twist that you need to have a great night out!

Salon Millesime, the new lounge in the Carlton Hotel, is serving up a punch bowl that serves 2 or more. This ingenious bowl, named Parisian Punch Bowl, is made with orange spiced brandy (made in house) with some Hayman’s gin, fresh apple cider, pineapple, cranberry, and some lemon. This premiere punch is offered for $48 and worth every penny for the inventive flavors and gorgeous atmosphere.

Some of the other lounges that are offering specialty punch bowls are: Mayahuel, with pitchers of Relapse Punch, a smokey lapsong souchong tea-killa’ infused with lemon, grapefruit, and whiskey barrel bitters for $48. If you are looking for a tamer and fruitier punch, The Hurricane Club has some vodka punch with lime, mango, and hibiscus served in a large watermelon bowl.

So, if you feel as though you have exhausted most of the options that NYC nightlife has to offer, grab a group of your closest friends and try a punch bowl. This communal activity will be sure to excite your flavor palate... I would even venture to say it will knock you out!
