In the Chinese culture, 2011 is coined the Year of the Rabbit. Also known by its formal name Xin Mao, the Chinese Rabbit is one of the most stylish creatures of the Animal Signs and is described as being classy, sophisticated and fashionable; seems like a perfect opportunity to celebrate!

In this spirit, Pig Heaven restaurant is offering (now through February 5^th) its first-ever Family Fun Festival packed with events. Care to join in the festivities?

Beginning with their traditional Dragon Parade, which represents vigor, luck and super natural forces, the wonderful New Year is kicked off with a big party! Seventy dollars per person gets you entrance to their two hours of festivities; a delicious menu including three appetizers, one entrée and a scrumptious dessert; and a dance party, hosted by owner Nancy Lee, complete with karaoke and colorful Chinese costumes worn by staff. (And yes, feel free to pull out your fanciest kimono and dress up too!)

With its friendly atmosphere, peach-colored tablecloths and multi-colored lights draping the bar, Pig Heaven restaurant is the perfect place to meet friends and enjoy authentic Chinese food and culture. Every Friday and Saturday there’s a live band from 10pm to 1am                                                             playing blues, jazz and rock music.

Popular dishes include dumplings with crystal shrimp, pan-fried dumplings with pork, and naturally their pork/pig spare ribs. Also noteworthy is their signature Yin & Yang dish made with chicken, pork or shrimp. Shredded pork with Szechuan pickled cabbage soup is consistently flavorful, and their Peking duck pleases with a fresh Long Island duck done crispy and tender. The skin and meat are separated, leaving the meat juicy and skin crisp.

Perfectly paired drinks include their exotic pineapple and the lichee martini.
