If Peter Kim, the brainchild of this operation, gets his wish and funding, The Big Apple will soon be home to the Food and Drink Museum. The idea is to create a place that serves as an educational resource for food history from a variety of cultures in an interactive way. Kim has his eyes set somewhere on the Upper West Side; an ideal location that is already heralded as a hotspot for culture and food.
Some of New York Cities most famed restaurants, like Del Posto and WD-150, have shows support by hosting a slew of fundraising events. The museum has already teamed up with chefs to create innovative dishes revolving around time periods such as "caveman cuisine" and "Roman" food.
The Food and Drink Museum's founders are still trying to win more support from chef celebrities like Mario Batali. Kim is still meeting with community board members to house this project. No word yet on whether Mayor Bloomberg will seek to limit the size of any potential soda exhibits.
