Whether you're a Steelers fan or a Packers fan, you'll want to watch the game somewhere, a place with gigantic HD screens and a solid selection of cheap beers, not to mention snacks to munch on. Here is a rundown of the best bars to watch the game.
Standings - Like the name, expect to stand in this small East Village spot. But you won't care once you see Standings' selection of fine-crafted microbrews on tap, updated every week or two. Order the 72 oz. mega pitcher to wash down the free pizza being served on Super Bowl Sunday. The best part? Standings does not play music so you can actually here what's going on in the game. Standings, 43 E. 7th Street New York, NY (212) 420-0671
Lansdowne Road - Don't worry too much about the fact that this bar is named after a rugby stadium in Dublin. You can catch the football game here playing on all the plasma screens. Although the beer selection is decent and well-priced, the finger foods, sandwiches and burgers, really make Lansdowne Road a stand-out. They are famous for their chicken wings, but you may want to try the Guinness shepherd's pie. Beer, beef and potatoes in one dish... What's not to like? Lansdowne Road, 599 10th Ave. New York, NY (212) 239- 8020
Mason Dixon - From the name, you've surely figured out that this bar has a Southern accent. From the outstanding selection of bourbons to great Southern eats, Mason Dixon is a great spot to watch the Super Bowl. At half time, make sure you take a ride on the mechanical bull. Mason Dixon, 133 Essex St. New York, NY (212) 260-4100
Bowlmor Lanes - Ditch the half-time show and bowl a few games. For $44 get unlimited bowling, shoe rental and unlimited draft beer. A light buffet will also be served. If you're hanging out by the bar, well drinks and beer go for $5. Game day specials start after 6:00 p.m. Bowlmor Lanes, 110 University Place New York, NY (212) 255-8188; 222 W. 44th Street New York, New York (212) 680-0012
