The two sessions at the Winter Harvest installment of the NYC Craft Beer Festival will be held at 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. with the second session being between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Both sessions will include approximately 150 American craft beers from 75 breweries from around the country. Representatives from each brewery will be at the taps to help answer any questions you may have about their brewing process, the tasting available, or any general inquiries. Brewers in attendance include New York-based breweries such as Blue Point Brewery, Bronx Brewery, Fire Island Beer Co., Saranac Brewing Company, and Southampton Public House among others. Breweries from around the country such as Peak Organic, Magic Hat, Sierra Nevada, Tröegs, and many more will also have their winter seasonal offerings available for tasting.
A craft beer festival wouldn’t be complete without some hearty bites! Delicious sandwiches such as a Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich topped with twice baked potato salad, bacon, scallions, cheddar, and zesty BBQ sauce, an Ale Braised Bratwurst Sandwich served with sauerkraut & Mother’s Milk Mustard, as well as a festive Holiday Sandwich made with turkey, herb stuffing, and a cranberry mayo will be available for purchase. Other snacks will include Uber Pretzels with Breakfast Stout mustard and Vegan Empanadas served with crispy tortillas and fresh salsa.
This installment of Hand Craft Tasting Co.’s NYC Craft Beer Festival includes three seminars, all of which are first come, first serve to the first 50 guests. The first features Chef Stephen Durley and Beer Sommelier Hayley Jensen from Taproom No. 307. The duo will host a Thanksgiving-themed beer pairing to educate attendees about which beers appropriately compliment your holiday meal. This, of course, could not be done properly without delicious food pairings to go along with a selection of craft beers. Chef Stephen has prepared the perfect Thanksgiving meal for beer aficionados that include Beer Braised Turkey with brown ale gravy, Hefeweissen stuffing, roasted Brussel sprouts with bacon and truffle salt, and a pumpkin ale pie.
Interested in starting up your own brewery or have an idea for a business that you’re sure would strive? Attend Chris Gallant, co-founder and GM of Bronx Brewery’s, seminar, “10 Start-up Business Tips Anyone Can Use, For Any Business,” where he will discuss tips he learned while starting Bronx Brewery and other tips that he learned while working for Heineken and Bain Capital. The third seminar, hosted by Aaron Foster, will be dedicated to cheese and beer pairings. Aaron, who may have the best job in the entire city, is the craft beer buyer for the West Village’s Murray’s Cheese Shop where they carry over 200 craft varieties. For those with Connoisseur tickets, Aaron will also be holding a cheese-sampling event in the Connoisseur’s Lounge where rare beers and food from craft beer restaurants, not offered on the main tasting floor, will be offered.
