Num Pang Sandwich Shop is the latest addition to Ratha Chaupoly’s expansion of Cambodian cuisine.  But this time, he is sharing the ownership with best friend and partner Ben Daitz.  These two have combined their forces to give customers a taste of homemade Cambodian sandwiches, made with the best ingredients available.  Both take great pride in the quality of each and every num pang served as well as introducing the Cambodian heritage behind it.

Num Pang, which is the Cambodian word for “bread” or “sandwich,” includes many Southeastern Asian flavors that leave a lingering savory taste.

This eatery provides a daily selection of six to eight freshly made sandwiches.  Essentially, the base of your num pang begins with a toasted semolina flour baguette, prepared exclusively from Parisi Bakery.  Next comes the stuffing of your choice.  With the vast selections, you might have trouble deciding between either the juicy pulled duroc pork or the tasty coconut tiger shrimp.  After you finally decide on a stuffing, Num Pang’s homemade chili mayo and pickled carrots, cilantro and cucumber are added on top to further enhance the flavor.

However, if you aren’t necessarily in the mood for sandwiches but want a taste of Cambodian cuisine, don’t worry!  Num Pang offers Cambodian side dishes such as grilled corn on the cob which has chili mayo, coconut flakes, and chili powder. Other specials like the grilled asparagus and spring onion in garlic chive vinaigrette is another refreshingly tasty selection.  With many vegetable friendly dishes, its no wonder people keep coming back for more.

Besides the luxurious food, Num Pang offers great, fast and quick service.  Enclosed is a subway-tiled kitchen that is open everyday for take-out.  But if you’re looking to dine in, there is a self-seating bar upstairs that allows seating for eight.  Or if you’d rather prefer to stand, counters are available for you to do so as well.  With orange décor and a street-style mural, a casual and lively atmosphere is definitely felt within the shop.

So instead of staying in your office to eat, take a break from the office, and eat at Num Pang’s.  A delicious sandwich is waiting for you to be indulged on.
