299 Bowery Street (by East 1st Street)
New York, New York 10003
With an opening day set for June 8th, Daniel Bouloud will be bringing his latest brainchild to NYC. DBGB is the newest “sausage and beer” restaurant to hit the Bowery (and possibly the only one?). The space contains 194 seats and has a kitchen supply feel to it, similar to those that have ceased to exist in the city- having large shelves that hold pots from different infamous chef-friends of Bouloud that include such names as Anthony Bourdain and Mario Batali.
Sticking with the sausage theme, DBGB will have an in-house charcutier who will me making the wursts and the dogs. For those who are not of the sausage eating kind, the menu sports some classic fare such as the Yankee burger, fish and chips, and a lemon and rosemary roasted chicken. On top of all this, Bouloud is bringing back something that has been forgotten about in restaurants—the ice cream cart! The ice cream cart will be serving 6 different flavors from pastry chef Mimi Eberhardt. Finally, if anyone tries to stick to a liquid diet, the drink menu will have 22 different tap beers and 30-50 bottled beers listed by alcohol percentage (Thank you Daniel for making our lives that much easier.)
Reservations, as well as doors, open on June 8th.
