Ah, the holidays have officially begun! Hot apple cider, pumpkin spiced anything and plenty of champagne shall be flowing in these next few months! With that said, we've rounded up some festive drinks from all over the country, for you to try in your own home. They are the perfect addition to any holiday dinner!
Jagertee (Served at Liason Capitol Hill, Washington DC)
1.5 oz. Blackwell Rum
1.5 oz. St.Elizabeth Allspice Dream
1.5 oz. Merlot
1 oz. Pok Pok Som
Tamarind Drinking Vinegar
Splash Orange Juice
1 Darjeling Tea Bag
Fill with hot water. Pour ingredients into the mason jar. Add tea bag, and fill to the bottom of the neck of with hot water. Let steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Garnish with an orange slice.
1.5 oz. Partida Blanco
½ oz. Coffee liqueur
4 oz. Freshly Brewed Hot Coffee
3 Barspoons Cinnamon & Sugar Mix
Prepare small warm wine glass. Add tequila and coffee. Mix in the cinnamon sugar. Float heavy cream on top of the coffee. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar mix on top and a Cinnamon stick. Note: The cinnamon sugar mix is 4 parts granulated white sugar to 1 part ground cinnamon. Mix them together in a bowl.
Chai-Spiced White Hot Sangria (Served at BLT Steak, NYC)
3 oz Palacios White Rioja
1.25 oz Laird’s Apple Brandy
1.25 oz Chai Spice Reduction
1.0 oz Honey Ginger Essence
.5 oz Lime Juice
Garnished with Cardamom-Orange Scented Whipped Cream and ground Cinnamon
2 cups heavy cream
0.5 tsp of ground cardamom
0.5 tsp of orange blossom extract
Whipped to consistency
The Co-Op (Served at Liason Capitol Hill, Washington DC)
1 ½ oz. Knob Creek Rye
½ oz. Calvados
1 ½ oz. Snap Liqueur
1 oz. Apple Simple Syrup
1 oz. Hot Water
Orange Peel Garnish
Combine the Knob Creek Rye, Calvados, Snap Liqueur, Half Squeezed Lemon, Apple Simple Syrup, Water, into a pot over medium heat. Slowly warm and add an Orange Peel. Stir and turn heat to low and let simmer for another 2 minutes. Pour everything into a mug.
7 oz. chamomile tea, freshly brewed
½ oz. Cointreau
½ oz. honey
Honey stick (rock candy swizzle stick)
Lemon wheel (optional)
Pour the tea, Cointreau and honey into a coffee mug. Stir well to combine. Garnish with a honey stick rock candy. Float lemon wheel on top (optional).
Hot Butter Rum (Served at Charles Hotel, Cambridge, MA)
1 ½ oz Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
1 Big Teaspoon Hot Butter Rum Mix (instructions below)
Roasted Sugar Pumpkin Whipped Cream (instructions below)
Start with a scoop of Hot Butter Rum mix and your Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum in a mug. Fill with Hot
water and top with the Pumpkin Whip Cream.
Hot Butter Rum Mix
1 lb Brown Sugar
½ tsp. Nutmeg
½ tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp. All Spice
½ tsp. Cardamom
½ lb Vermont Butter (Softened)
In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients and refrigerate overnight.
