Yerba Buena, currently located on Avenue A, is opening up a second location this week in Greenwich Village. Yerba Buena Perry is taking the place of closed down Matador on the corner of Greenwich and Perry Street. The newest addition will offer high end Latin cuisine as well as innovative cocktails (all $12) designed by Cervantes, previously employed by PDT and Little Branch.

The cocktail list shows the recently re-embraced ingredient bitters scattered throughout almost half of the drinks- The Barnum Was Right is a mix of gin, apricot, bitters, and lemon and the Rumbuck is made up of dark rum, ginger, lime and bitters; even the Pisco Mojito has a dash of bitters listed in its ingredients.

The menu offers little bites such as manchego cheese croquettes, tilapia Baja style tacos, and five different ceviches. And as far as main courses go? The safety dish, arroz con pollo, makes an appearance, along with the more interesting tamarind glazed duck confit, roasted suckling pig, and grilled black cod. The Parrillada is a dish for two and includes a dry aged rib eye steak, NY strip steak, chorizo, and morcillo (Spanish blood sausage.)

Dim lighting, white leather banquets and dark wood accents make YBPerry the sleeker more stylish location of the two, with an added bonus of outdoor seating.
