Black Francis Scheduled to Play Acoustic Set in East Village This Weekend
The Pixies front-man takes the stage alone for two nights

The indie-rock legend Black Francis (Frank Black) makes a pit stop at Joe's Pub, a cozy East Village music venue, on September 3, 4 and 5 at 9:30 p.m., in the middle of his two-month-long tour littered almost exclusively with shows in the west and south.

The Pixies frontman has continued his career after the Pixies by producing solo works under the name Black Francis and has produced more than a dozen albums (even through the Pixies reunion tours), including his two 2010 releases: The Golem and Non Stop Erotik

A true legend and innovator of indie rock, Black's unmistakable singing style and songwriting ability has put him at the forefront of the originators of one of the most popular music genres of the younger generation. Kurt Cobain even attributed the Pixies as their main inspiration.

And even without a band behind him, all Black needs for an amazing performance is a guitar and a microphone.
