From one of electronic music's biggest acts to a two-night affair with one of the most enduring outfits in alternative rock, there's no shortage of live entertainment to be found throughout October. Here are some marquee names and rising superstars that will be hitting the Big Apple's best venues in the coming months:

10/4 through 10/9 - Deadmau5 @ Roseland Ballroom

Love deadmau5? Well, here's your chance to see him six times in a row! The world-renowned electronic artist will make history when he brings his Meowsington Hax experience to Roseland Ballroom for nearly a full week. Named after his cat Professor Meowingtons, the Meowsington Hax show is a combination of arresting visual production and deadmau5's signature blend of original music and remixed classics. Judging by this clip from Lollapolooza, NYC fans are in for one heck of a sense-jarring treat. Though six consecutive nights of those flashy lights can't be good for your eyes...

10/10 – UH HUH HER @ Irving Plaza

This rising electro-pop duo is on the first-ever Keep-A-Breast music tour, which means you can support breast cancer awareness while hearing the infectious sounds of Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey. The group's full length Nocturnes is hitting stores the day after the show, and it's likely a few NYC showgoers will go home eager to pick it up.

10/14 – WOLFGANG GARTNER @ Webster Hall

Another upcoming artist with a new record on the way, electronic musician Wolfgang Gartner has been prepping his forthcoming Weekend America while touring the nation. With a few heatseeking singles and upcoming collaborations with Will.I.Am and Cam'ron, expect a riveting crowd for this rising star.

10/17, 10/18 – JANE’S ADDICTION @ Irving Plaza

A staple on MTV and alternative rock charts for two and a half decades, Jane's Addiction are stopping at Irving Plaza as part of a special tour consisting of two-night stands. With their new full-length The Great Escape Artist hitting stores Oct. 18th, expect a mix of new tunes and timeless hits, all delivered by the unfettered energy of bombastic frontman Perry Farrell

10/18 – THE SMASHING PUMPKINS @ Terminal 5

Another legendary act that needs little introduction, The Smashing Pumpkins are bringing their "The Other Side of the Kaleidyscope" tour to Terminal 5. A revolving door of musicians led by seminal frontman/songwritier Billy Corgan, expect the Pumpkins to pump out all the 90s jams you rocked out to in your flannel shirts, while giving you a musical glimpse into their future, which includes a series of albums meant to make up an ambitious 44-track collection.

10/21 – DROP THE LIME @ Mercury Lounge (CMJ)

New York DJ Drop The Lime sets himself apart from the trove of his electronic peers by combining 50s rock n' roll with modern-day dance. The end result of this musical concoction? You'll get to witness it in person when Drop The Lime plays the CMJ festival backed by a full band. He just might be the one DJ you and your dad can finally vibe to... together.
