Topping our list of must-shop pop-up shops is Shape Shop, a Sight Unseen curated pop-up taking place at Creatures of Comfort this month. Sight Unseen, a forward thinking online magazine by editors Monica Khemsurov and Jill Singer, sniffs out all things interesting and innovative in creative industries from fashion to photography, design, art, and more. Following their success with last year’s four-day pop-up in Noho’s Design District, Sight Unseen returns to the retail scene with new merch and more importantly, a whole month dedicated to this special shopping opportunity. “People kept commenting that it really looked like Sight Unseen come to life,” said Khemsurov of last year’s woefully short four-day pop up. “It brought our aesthetic out of the digital realm and gave us the chance to commission pieces from a lot of folks whose work we really admired. After it ended…we went into withdrawal and began planning for pop-up number two.” (W Magazine)
Shape Shop features a collection of stylish goods, many of which you’re not likely to find anywhere else. The theme is (you guessed it) shapes, and amazing finds from thirty geometry-obsessed designers from London to Los Angeles grace the gallery space of Creature’s Soho store just waiting to be scooped up. There are hand-painted leather pouches by Baggu, colorful Bloc necklaces by Ladies & Gentlemen Studio, handmade home goods by Patrick Kim, vintage treasures, and more. Sight Unseen also debuts their first print edition, Paper View, a tangible, limited edition tome of their expertly curated style. Shop through May 6th to snag something bold and unique to adorn your wardrobe and your digs.

CHROMATICgallerie is the perfect solution to shoe shopping woes. We know, who has woes about shoe shopping? But we’ve all been there, when you have exactly what you want in mind but just can’t find it. Chromatic offers their signature shoe, shoppable by trend, color, size, material, and heel height. Once only offered via their online shop, Chromatic styles are live and in color at Story pop-up shop in Chelsea. Always evolving and reinventing itself, Story is a “retail space that has the point of view of a magazine, changing like and gallery and selling like a boutique.” Now in its second issue, also known as ‘Color Story,’ the shop features a mix of merchandise as colorful as its rainbow of Benjamin Moore painted walls. Story is stocked with over one thousand boldly hued items for men, women, kids, and home including goods from some of our other favorite online shops like jewelry from BaubleBar and apparel from StyleMint. Get the goods until May 22nd when Story will start over with a clean slate for a brand new limited edition installation.

Calling all glamazons!
Long Tall Sally is hosting a week-long New York City pop-up offering you the luxury of shopping their spring and summer collections in person (read: finally try before you buy!). The British brand specializing in silhouettes 5’8” and above is only available this side of the Atlantic via purchasing online, so this ‘pop-upportunity’ can’t be missed. We expect to see great merchandise and tons of it this year, as the brand more than triples the duration of its annual two-day event.
Long Tall Sally designs pieces with the perfect fit in mind adding details like longer sleeve, torso, and inseam lengths, proportionate hip placement, and shoe sizes 10 to 13 in a variety of heel heights. Styles from the current collections will be stocked including floral maxi dresses starting at $119, skinny jeans at $85, and quilted leather jackets from $299. Long Tall Sally is even offering free shipping on items that may end up out of stock at the event. The shop opens tomorrow and coincidentally aligns with “National Stand Tall Week,” giving us two reasons to embrace our height with pride this month.
