Highbar is a chic penthouse bar that spans over two floors, boasting sunset views across the city and Hudson River. The top floor is an open roof-top haven perfect for tranquil cocktails while, later into the night the party really gets started in the loft-style VIP nightclub room below, complete with floor to ceiling windows so you don’t have to miss out on the view.
Eats & Drinks
Both the food and drinks menu are kept tastefully simple yet classic at Highbar. The bar has an impressive cocktail menu with tall drinks like Wicket, a refreshing mix of cucumber and lime with a gold, old fashioned gin and tonic. As for food, think “backyard grill goes up the market,” with hotdogs and grilled sandwiches as well as crudités and the oh-so-tempting drunken watermelon (a watermelon slice infused with your choice of liquor).
Ambience
Highbar is the epitome of the urban jungle with an ultra-modern, sleek design created from natural slate, bamboo and of course an abundance of green, lively plants. The Highbar rooftop terrace is scattered with love seats and day beds where you can sprawl out and relax alongside a bizarre, signature UFO chair that makes for a conversation starter. The outdoors/indoors vibe is continued on the lower floor of Highbar with soft, colored lighting leading up to a ceiling decorated with roots from the green canopy above.

As an event management student in Denmark, Jara Wine has had many occasions to dress up. However the options that were available to her weren’t that appealing. So, in 2006 she began designing her own dresses to stand out from the crowd.
