Back as a Freshman at the University at Buffalo, DJ Shakez discovered his new love for dancing. The first dance that got him into it was the "Harlem Shake", made famous by Diddy & G-Dep's "Let's Get It". After studying the movement in the videos, DJ Shakez slowly but surely gained confidence to break the stereotype that Asians don't have "rhythm". Ever since then, he just kept wanting more and more from the Hip-Hop Genre.
A few years after, DJ Shakez decided to expand on his love for music by experimenting with music editing and DJing. Back then, all he had to play with was multiple Winamp programs and LOTS of music. He did not have the funds for professional equipment. After entertaining his friends at house parties with his so-called "computer DJing", DJ Shakez knew that he wanted to take the next step, which was to save up to purchase turntables and a mixer.
Two years later, DJ Shakez has grown and improved due to his diligent practice sessions. He has rocked out parties from Buffalo to NYC, along with private events. He has met some awesome DJs in the industry, watching them perform has inspired him to advance even further.
While there is plenty of room to grow in this industry, DJ Shakez is confident that he has the capabilities to move a crowd and to give them the music they desire.
