Loft
VENUE DETAILS
Perhaps Loft should be called “Cave” instead—more than an industrial loft, itÂ's an Asian- and Mediterranean-inspired grotto. The space, like the menu, is on-point, understated, and classy. ItÂ's got the requisite muted colors, rich textures, and candle-heavy lighting. The designers played with the indoor-outdoor idea, creating an upstairs area that feels like a courtyard (with a giant tree and hurricane lamps), and a palm tree mural to match the potted palms near the door. To drink: sumptuous cocktails with exotic ingredients like tamarind and cumin. The crowd is part business, part foodie, and part collared shirt. The weekend DJs draw the uptown hipsters out of the woodwork, and inspire more than a few downtowners to make the trip too.
