So the water surrounding New York City is probably not the cleanest on Earth… we know. However, as a water town, we often enjoy peering down at the harbor, yet we never really get the chance to visit up close and personal… until now.

On July 14th, The Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance City of Water Day will provide families the opportunity to spend the day down at the New York – New Jersey harbor. Festivities will occur at both Governor’s Island and Liberty State Park, and a complimentary ferry will take guests back and forth continuously.
According to its website, there will be free kayaking, rowing, and fishing for all to enjoy. The event lasts from 10am to 4pm, and will also feature boat tours and live music. It sounds like a great way to bring together residents and tourists alike to appreciate the delightful waterfront property that we sometimes take for granted.
