New York’s summer nightlife season is almost here and the "weekend" starting on Thursday, saw the debut of some new events. From what it seems, Thursday is the new start to the weekend!

Friday afternoon happy hours from 3pm until sunset, can be spent at Le Bain’s SELECT SUMMER FRIDAYS, located on the rooftop of the Standard Hotel overlooking the Hudson.

Why be inside when you can dance atop the world while sipping on cocktails, sun worshiping, or taking a dip in the pool if you feel so inclined? SELECT SUMMER FRIDAYS is Promoted by folks at  Good-Peoples and hosted by jewelry designer Jules Kim,  KATIE LONGMYER, and Neil Aline setting up shop on the wheels of steal. This past Friday’s opening party was in celebration of the  launch of  Steve Madden Magazine.  The Standard’s incredible rooftop views provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of Steve Madden shoe spotting.

Brooklyn Pride took over Saturday. Yes, Brooklyn celebrates PRIDE; with a bunch of events that culminated in a Parade down  5th avenue in Park Slope and a visit to gay pride friendly venues such as Gingers and Excelsior.

Sunday was spent on the beach in Coney Island, Brooklyn. If you don’t want to take the extreme commute to Long Island, CI is a train stop away, literally. The last day of the weekend was spent soaking up the sun and listening to the sounds of DJ Lou Gorbea mixing it up for the Coney Island Dancers.

Hamptons Shamaptons some of the best DJs in NYC Spin all summer long on the Coney Island Boardwalk like resident DJ Disciple. Upcoming events include performance by Barbara Tucker and the Mermaid Parade afterparty. Get ready for Summer New York.
