Long ago, the Lower East Side was a haven for pushcart markets. Fruit stands, handmade goods, and local artisans would line the streets calling out to the denizens of New York to buy their product.

This June, the Lower East Side Business Improvement District wants you to re-live that excitement at the Daylife three-block festival.

On Sunday, June 3rd, from Noon to 5pm, head down to Orchard St. between Houston and Delancey for food, fashion, music, and a comfortable layer of astro-turf.

Vendors will include The Meatball ShopBlue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya, ‘inotecaSons of Essex and By Robert James. If you want to get to know just what you’ll be seeing, check out these Youtube videos showcasing various vendors, interviewing the actual people you’ll be walking by.

Looking for more than just food? How about ping pong tables, or even a skateboard ramp? Daylife will also be offering up DJ lessons, urban croquet, and gym trainers from David Barton giving away gifts and raffles. Daylife will ideally turn into a weekly summer series, providing a sunny alternative to your Sunday brunch plans!
