Oh Joonbuggies, we know you’ve been attending every hot show for this year’s uproarious Fashion Week, but don’t put those Manolo’s away just yet. It’s the weekend in our beloved New York City, and how could we refuse an opportunity to show off our new stylish duds at cocktail soirees, dance parties, and a global bazaar? Whatever the outfit, we have the perfect event for you. Here’s our five fave picks for this weekend:
Friday September 16th

Don that sexy cocktail dress for the 1st Annual Late Summer in the Big City Benefit. Held by the Young Friends of the ICM Foundation for brain tumor research so you know you’ll be supporting a good cause. Live music will accompany you as you peruse the incredible view at Midtown Loft and Terrace on the wraparound rooftop bar. The party will be buzzing with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and themed cocktails, to make for a memorable and exciting evening. And the best part? All proceeds from the event will help fund the ICM Foundation’s constant search for new and effective treatment of brain cancer. For tickets go to www.icmfoundation.org/events.html
Where: Midtown Loft & Terrace, 267 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY
When: Friday, September 16th, 9:00PM

Join Pacha this Friday, September 16th, (we were thinking maybe a slinky black dress and some chic pops of color) in welcoming Dutch sensation R3HAB to NYC’s club scene. Being Afrojack’s labelmate (remixer for Lady GaGa), you know you’re in for a musical treat like no other. With original hits like “Bottle Song” and “Pump Up the Party” and personalized tracks, R3HAB is making Pacha the place to be this weekend. Admission is free before 12:00AM, so be sure to get there early.

Wear your favorite Ke$ha-glam-rock top (the glitter the better) to this musical premiere extravaganza. The performers will wow your senses in this combination concert/dance party showcasing talent from all over the world. Nadine Coyle, of Girls Aloud (yes, of the same band with the 5 times platinum albums), kicks off the party with future pop hits from her solo album “Insatiable.” Next is NEON HITCH (writer of Ke$ha’s sensation “Blah Blah Blah,) who will perform songs from “Beg, Borrow, or Steal,” her debut album. Additional performances will include Chris Salvatore, and DJ Justin Dawson. There will be a 42Below open vodka bar and free giveaways, so make it a night to remember. And all this for $10 in advance and $15 at the door. For tickets go to http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=3926835

Saturday September 17th

Spend this Saturday, September 17th, exploring the world in your most exotic ready-to-wear. Well, maybe not the world, but you know what we mean. While we’re sure that you’re future holds ‘jetsetter’ in its repertoire, why not discover an exotic treasure, or eat authentic delicacies from across the world this weekend at this year’s Travel and Leisure Global Bazaar. There will be live performances, sensory installations, food, and products from everywhere and anywhere. Tickets start at $50 for daytime entry, while the Bazaar at Night is $75. For tickets go to:
Where: Park Avenue Armory, 643 Park Avenue
When: Saturday, September 17th, 12:00PM-4:00PM, 7:00PM-11:00PM

Don’t worry if you didn’t score some designer steals during Fashion Week, because NYC’s most diligent AIDS research foundation, Housing Works, has brought back “Buy the Bags.” Here’s how it works: for $25 you get a bag, which you then fill to the brim with accessories and clothes. For an extra $5 you can get early access at 10:00AM. The proceeds will go to AIDS research, so for $25 you’re not only getting some great clothes, you’re also helping a cause. Shop on NYC.
Where: Thrift Shops Warehouse, 4849 35th St., Long Island, NY
When: Saturday, September 17th, 11:00AM-2:00PM
