Let's face it Halloween weekend this year felt more like December than last week did. But the cold is slowly creeping in, and the warmest part of the day is right when the sun goes down. (ironic? we think not.) Let's make the warmest part of the day coincidentally be the same time as post work drinks (insert winking smiley face).

Let's say the weather is wreaking havoc outside and you can't wait for your flight to St. Barts (New Years, here we come). What to do? Stop by the infamous Darby and order up a 'Hemingway' will bring you to the Caribbean faster than that private airliner ever could in a few short weeks. This concoction of rum and other island themed juices will surely take you somewhere just under the mile high club.
If you're not into the Caribbean during the winter, the next best suggestion would be to head out East! Way East! And try the Singapore Slingshot. The mixologists' of the Darby perfect this by cloaking the gin heavy cocktail with pineapple and cherry flavors along with many other taste bud satisfyers.

If the fine Thai sand is not what you seek, hail a cab to JFK. But for something much faster than the Midtown tunnel, tell that cabbie to head to Reade street between Church and W. Broadway and stop by Ward III. This bar is reeking of Donald Draper and other key traits from the hit AMC show, Mad Men. You can come here for your classic Old Fashioned, or take a stroll on the edge and trust the bartender to make you a bespoke cocktail. The process of their decision: you go through a list of characteristics you'd like your drink to have and the bartender uses their specially trained minds to seek this cocktail and produce it for you. Service- Check.
