New York’s Atwood Kitchen and Bar Room is a rustic chic gastropub adding culinary diversity to the once stale bar scene of Manhattan’s Midtown East. Brought to you by restaurateurs Daniel Rieger and Evan Rosenberg, Atwood is a bi-level haven for cozy upscale dining and seasonal cocktail sipping. Executive chef Brad Warner (The General) serves nouveau American bites spiked with global influences, like chorizo toast with goat cheese and apricot honey, and spiced lamb meatballs with roasted tomato eggplant purée, minted yogurt, and feta. Atwood’s signature macaroni and cheese with sweet potato, white cheddar, bacon, and mushrooms snagged the coveted title of Best in NYC by Time Out New York last year. The cocktail menu is just as eclectic with mixologist Gil Bouhana (Milk & Honey) combining Tito’s Vodka, orange liqueur, blackberries, and elderflower in “Happy Endings,” and gin, rosé, lemon, fresh strawberries, and rosewater in “The Eleanor.” The stylish Tuscan-inspired décor and natural Brooklyn charm add to the contemporary mix of high and low.
