Serrano has been a fixture on the Philadelphia restaurant scene since 1985. Owners Rich Machlin and Jude Erwin based their venture on a very simple premise; Serving international fare at neighborhood prices. In 1992, Serrano introduced Tin Angel, the intimate acoustic cafe on the second floor. From opening night, Tin Angel has presented an astonishing array of stars from the world of blues, rock, folk and country. This music club has earned a reputation as, perhaps, the best club of its size in the country. Artists, doctors and dot-comers. Carpenters, musicians and fathers. Birkenstocks and Blahniks alike are welcome. Serrano is Old City's longest running loft party. A place to visit, kick back and enjoy; to bring friends and make friends. Comfort. Warmth. Home. Experience Celtic Cuisine reinvented (pork shoulder, slow-roasted in Guinness Stout or Meditteranean-influenced Bangers and Mash with apple-fennel sausage and balsamic reduction). Return home with a soul-satisfying American Meatloaf wrapped in bacon and spiced with adobo-apricot glaze. Arrive early. They let you sit on the steps inside the venue leading to the seating area on the second floor. You'll have your pick of seat when the doors open.
