Venue Description:
One of PhiladelphiaÂ's newest clubs, the Manhattan Room is on the border of recently gentrified Fishtown. The neighborhood is still rough around the edges, and that atmosphere adds a bit of excitement to your visit. The venue features live music, independent film, art openings, DJs and special events seven nights a week. The crowd is usually heavy on the starving artists, with a good dose of artisans and deadbeats. Moody, smoky, and scruffy – the crowd tends to be more restrained then rocking. The food is decent, the beer is cheap, and plenty of frisky freeloaders to dance with.
