Valanni is a contemporary dining and cocktail establishment located just East of Broad, near the Avenue of the Arts, in Center City, Philadelphia. If there is one thing that Philadelphians can agree on, it's that Valanni is Philly favorite. Now that Valanni’s has just recently undergone major renovations, theres an even larger space to enjoy. The crowd is full of joyful contradictions, luring both the gregarious and refined, the yuppie and artsy, the young and old, the gay and straight, the foodie and the drinker. Everyone has a place at Valanni’s
Eats & Drinks
Executive chef Evan Turney’s modern medi-latin cuisine is critically acclaimed, comprised of flavorful tapas, seasonal entrees and decadent desserts. To complement Turney’s fare is a unique cocktail, wine and beer list. Combined, these elements of Food – Shelter – Cocktails create a modern and unparalleled dining and drinking experience. Happy Hour is constant favorite at Valannis, with $4 cocktails and tapas to unwind from a hard day's work. Don’t leave without sipping on some of the famed sangria that patrons can’t get enough of.
Ambience
The atmosphere is cozy, not super schmancy Since the major renovations have finished there are twice as many reasons to love Valanni’s: 120 seats instead of 60 and a bar that's 100% bigger. Locals flock in droves for the relaxed, yet never boring, brick-walled atmosphere. Valanni’s does a great job of being sophisticated, but not crossing the line to pretentious.

TIPS

Great for brunch! Order the brunch-rita (a margarita with a touch of OJ) or the Brazilian Pop, which has pomegranate liquor, mango puree and champagne.

Ooooo, the food is goooood. As are the martinis. Not cheap, but worth it.

On April 7, @ Valanni's, Diageo Spirits' whiskey master John Heffernan, hosts a dinner to introduce patrons to a whiskey tutorial. Prepare to have your preconceptions changed permanently.
