Don't Let St. Patty's Pass You By
A lot of pub crawls are lame. This one isn't. Get in on a Philly tradition this Saturday.

Erin Express Pub Crawl
Saturday March 13, 2010
13 participating pubs (see link for list and info for all 13)
Buses every 15 minutes; hop-on, hop-off service
Cost of bus service: Free!
Hosts: Cavanaugh's Restaurant and Smokey Joe's

Pub crawls can be hit or miss, but the Erin Express is a solid tradition that pays homage to Philadelphia's Irish heritage.  Philly's St. Patrick's Day Parade, which occurs this Sunday the 14th, is America's second oldest (1771), falling short only to New York City's parade (1762).

The Erin Express Pub Crawl was started over 30 years ago by William Pawliczec of Cavanaugh's and Paul Ryan Sr. of Smokey Joe's.  The crawl has turned into a 13 pub circuit, connected by hop-on, hop-off buses that arrive every 15 or 20 minutes outside the participating bars.  The bus service starts at noon on Saturday, March 13th, and ends at 5:30PM.

During this time there's no costs, tickets, reservations, or covers at the pubs!  You can cruise from pub to pub at will, enjoying the food and drink specials (all traditional Irish fare), as well as the Irish Music.

Visit the following link to check out all the Erin Express pub stops and their locations.  (Cavanaugh's Restaurant).  There's something for everyone in that list of Irish drinking landmarks, and if one isn't you're cup of tea, keep an eye out front and get on the next bus.  Cover some ground this St. Patty's; have a Harp for me.
