The soccer-star, underwear designer/model and all-around style icon can now add history-making cover model to his fashionable resume. Last week, Beckham made history when posing before the lens for his cover shoot for the British Elle July Issue in Los Angeles; marking the first time in which a male will appear solo for a women’s glossy magazine.
It comes as no surprise that the British magazine and star have partnered for the milestone in fashion magazine and editorial history. 2012 marks an exciting time for the nation as all eyes will be on the city of London as it hosts the 30th Summer Olympic Games. Beckham, the true embodiment of UK style stardom and athleticism, seems quite the natural choice for the groundbreaking issue.
Elle UK Editor-In-Chief Lorraine Candy released the statement adding, “ David Beckham is a national hero, so we saw an opportunity to shoot a celebratory cover to support a historical and patriotic year...He is an icon and ELLE is known for featuring icons on its cover. This is a first for us on the newsstand and I believe he is loved by men and women alike.”
The 36-year-old Beckham has had plenty of experience flexing his muscles, both on the soccer field and in front of cameras, appearing on the covers of Vanity Fair, GQ, Arena, various editions of Men's Health, Wall Street Journal Magazine, and even W magazine with wife Victoria, to name a few. The former Manchester United and LA Galaxy star has also been featured in Emporio Armani and recently H&M underwear campaigns, but this issue, set to appear on newsstands May 30th will mark the first time in which a male will appear solo for a women's magazine cover.

We had a chance to chat with Triple F.A.T Goose clothing about past, present, future, and their upcoming tour. Check out our exclusive interview and what's to come for the label!
What is the inspiration behind the name/brand?
TFG (http://www.triplefatgoose.com) started off primarily as an outerwear brand (Triple F.A.T. Goose) back in the late 80s. We brought it back a few years ago and launched a sportswear collection to complement it. There are two divisions to the brand, TFG for sportswear and Triple F.A.T. Goose for the down jackets. The reaction to both labels has been great so far. We are inspired by European contemporary influences and also by elements of music. For example, our spring 2012 collection comes complete with twill tape emblazoned with the phrase “Empowering Indie Bands Everywhere.” That statement is actually a key part of our brand positioning for coming seasons. I know a lot of fashion companies collaborate with bands but we’re actually doing it on a much deeper level.
