Make-A-Wish Dream Date Auction

Seven-year-old Christopher James Greicius got to be a police officer for a day. Christopher had been battling leukemia and his dream had always been to be a police officer. That dream came true on April 29th, 1980 when Chris got to travel in a Department of Public Safety helicopter and got a tailored-made police uniform. Chris passed away on May 3, 1980. But the happiness brought upon by a wish-come-true did not go unnoticed. Chris' mom, Linda Bergendahl-Pauling and two partners created the Chris Greicius Make-A-Wish Memorial which later became the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since 1983 it has been working to bring joy and hope for children under life-threatening conditions.

Exclusive Interview with 106 & Park's DJ Prostyle

DJ Prostyle is no newbie to the music scene, as he’s been propelling his career as a DJ since the tender age of 13. It is no surprise that his name is a combination of the two most essential attributes needed to succeed in today’s music industry—professionalism and style.

This exclusive interview reveals that he not only embodies both of these qualities, but continues to push all boundaries of his career. DJ Prostyle was born in Queens, NY and moved to Orlando, Florida as a young teenager where he began to build his propensity for DJing. After a few years of throwing countless house parties and releasing mixtapes, Prostyle developed a loyal fan base, which ultimately landed him his own show on a college radio station at the age of 16. As his credentials continued to escalate, Prostyle scored another mix show at the age of 18 and his music permeated the airwaves, catapulting him to the 1 mix show in Orlando at the prime time 5pm slot.

Michael "Laws" Maldonado is a Brazilian-born, Florida raised hip hop artist who signed with the Grammy award winning producer trio J.U.S.T.I.C.E League in 2009. Laws started rhyming when he was 16 and made his way into the rapping realm by competing in and winning lyrical face-offs. He eventually elevated from battler to songwriter and crafted music that caught the attention of Rook, a member of J.U.S.T.I.C.E League's production team. After conversing via AOL Instant Messenger, the two met up, hit the studio, and produced Laws' first mixtape that earned him comparisons to iconic rapper Eminem.

Brian Aubert Speaks Up About Silversun Pickups

Even the palpable heat and caked humidity could not stop Silversun Pickups from rocking out the nascent Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton, FL. What promises to be a prodigious epicenter for music in South Florida with upcoming acts like Cypress Hill, Slightly Stoopid and the reemerging Sublime with Rome, decided to invite Silversun early on to sample Boca’s new musical Coliseum.

Silversun frontman Brian Aubert took a few minutes out only hours before his June 16 show to call Mike Rothman to discuss this new venue, Latin food in South Florida, the meaning behind the esoteric name Silversun and the influence touring with bands like Foo Fighters and Muse had on the Pickups. Aubert also made one lucky fan’s day, maybe even year, as David DiCristina was invited to drop in with a few questions of his own.

Ultra Takes Miami

Downtown Miami shook from the bass emanating from Bicentennial Park from the most anticipated music festival in Miami: Ultra Music Festival 2010. The 12th annual closing festival to the Winter Music Conference lasted two days (March 26 and 27), and drew in a record setting crowd this year, having been the first Ultra in history to completely sell out.

The best names from all areas of electronic music, including trance, drum and bass, house and electro played on various stages over the course of the two day festival. Even some artists not typically associated with electronic music were performing live at the event. Passion Pit, Nas, and Damian Marley performed at the event alongside some of the biggest names in the electronic music scene. Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas also debuted as a house DJ at Ultra, mixing his set in with some Black Eyed Peas songs but still delivering a surprisingly solid set.

Woods Returns To Golf

Tiger Woods announced today that he will make a historic return to the game of golf on April 8, 2010 to compete in the Master's Tournament after almost six months of hiding from his media-infused scandal. Woods' public problems began on Thanksgiving Day with a minor car accident outside his Florida home he shares with his wife Elin Nordegren and their two children, which ultimately led to the exposure of dozens of extramarital affairs from across the country. Woods has been undergoing therapy for sex addiction at a treatment center far removed from public life and from his family. The lustful links lover attempted to restore his broken image through a televised address to the PGA on February 19 where he apologized for his behavior in a highly scripted speech.

The Who Announce Super Bowl Halftime Set

Super Bowl XLIV is here and that means only one thing: another performance from a classic rock icon. Ever since the infamous 2004 Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake nipple incident, the NFL has been opting for "veteran" acts to lessen the chance of controversy.

The Who will be following the footsteps of Paul McCartney (2005), the Rolling Stones (2006), Prince (2007), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (2008), and last year's performance by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
